- Description
Assistant Controller who is looking to make the switch to the private sector. Well-established Construction company located in Brooklyn, NY that is growing.
- Ensure all books and records are kept in accordance with GAAP
- Excellent knowledge of bank reconciliation
- General Ledger analysis is performed daily
- Understanding of debits and credits in accounting
- Knowledge of journal entry using a T account; basics are particularly important
- Understanding of financial statements
- Books are closed by the 10th of each month; working with deadlines is imperative
- Understanding of accounting terminology
- Must have a strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of a WIP report will be useful, however, not necessary
- A solid foundation on Cost Accounting in the construction field is extremely desired
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have public accounting experience
- Construction client experience
- Able to analyze financial records and transfer information
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field preferred
