Controller - Part Time 

Manage Accounting Records to produce financial reports in a timely manner for the owner/CEO and fractional CFO of a small to medium sized manufacturing bussiness located in central New Jersey.  Some work may be preformed virtually.  

Duites and responsibilities

• Maintain the cost accounting function processes to perform the monthly close by preparing the cost accounting journal entries, job costs, cost of sales, manufacturing overhead, burden rates, labor rates and inventory movement/valuation. 
• Provide job cost reports on shipped equipment and parts.  Provide and maintain a product cost template to be used for the quoting of equipment and parts prices to ensure porper margins are achieved upon the sale of the equipment and/or parts. 
• Manage the accounts receivable, accounts payable, general journal entries, subsidiary ledgers, and bank reconciliations via thebookkeeping services. 
• Responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and will be knowledgeable as to what each account is for and what makes up the balance in the account.  Ensure transactions are properly coded with the applicable general ledger account number. 
• Manage the monthly close process to generate financial statements within 5 business days of the last day of the month. 

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with very strong cost accounting skills. 
• Very hands on individual accustom to working with a very small staff. 
• Attention to detail with high degree of accuray. 
• Managed a genernal accounting function and be familiar with and able to perform all aspects of general accounting. 
• Experience with a manufacturing ERP sstem with a complete understanding of its functionality.  Having the experience with Profit Key very desirable. 
• Very proficient with Excel, Work, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows operating system. 
• CPA desired but not required. 
• 10+ years of accounting/cost accounting experience a must.
